Dr. Qudsi Rizvi

Assistant Professor, Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU), Hyderabad

Dr. Qudsi Rizvi brings over seventeen years of teaching experience to his current role as a faculty in the Department of English at Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU), Hyderabad. His academic journey began in 2008, and since then he has taught at several respected institutions across India, including Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology (MNNIT) Allahabad and Shri Ramswaroop Memorial University, Lucknow. He received his Ph.D. in 2014 from MNNIT Allahabad, where his doctoral research examined questions of female identity and agency in the novels of Shashi Deshpande through a feminist framework.

Beyond his scholarly work in gender studies, ecocriticism, and postcolonial literature, Dr. Rizvi is also a published poet, essayist, and short story writer. His creative writing has appeared in numerous national and international anthologies and journals, including Spillwords Press (New York). His debut poetry collection, Shades of Solitude (2021), has been appreciated for its emotional depth and lyrical craftsmanship.
What truly distinguishes Dr. Rizvi is his commitment to meaningful dialogue—across disciplines, cultures, and faiths. He has delivered invited lectures internationally, and has actively organized and chaired sessions at major international conferences. Whether in a classroom, on a conference panel, or through a poem, he tries to bring the same thing to all his work: a genuine curiosity about human experience and a quiet belief that literature, at its best, helps us listen more carefully to one another.
